The Cherry Blossoms in Washington, DC - I grew up a few miles away from these short-lived, magnificent blooms and didn’t see them with my own eyes until I was an adult.

 

I live in Florida now, and while I can go online and view countless images of the same cherry blossoms, nothing comes close to the actual experience of seeing them with my own eyes -processing the vivid colors, smelling the surroundings - experiencing the moment.

 

I do have a few photographs from this day though, like the one here, that help recall my being there, the feeling there, and they still bring a smile to my face so many. years later.

When I had my first child, I realized how important it was for me to have photographs to recall those treasured moments - freezing in time the look, the surroundings, those fleeting moments and the feelings that continue to bring smiles long after.  I hope to capture those real life experiences for you while creating art you can display in your home.
